We have 12 licenses of Groove Project Edition, and plan to add another 8 to 10 more in the next six months. If things go well, we may eventually increase to 100 licenses.
As part of a successful rollout, we need to ensure Groove can also be accessed by any one the of users (company employees mostly, sometimes outside consultants, distributors & customers as well) from a computer where Groove is not installed - ie. at an internet cafe, or at a client site office where permission to install Groove is not yet provided.
We need to intially start with one shared PopG account between the 12 users, and as the off-site use grows (ie. from computers where Groove is not installed) we will need to add additional PopG licenses to enable simultaneous access.
My question is that if we start with a shared PopG account, will it 'understand' identities of different Groove users as they log in through PopG ?
(PS. Please excuse as I'm posting here - I kept getting an error on the online form, and also could not find an email contact. I can't call as I am in an airport in Dubai & don't roaming on my cell)

The answer is yes, yes and yes. One PopG seat can house any number of Groove accounts. Each user can have a diffferent identity.

Howver be aware of Groove's difference between and identity and an account. These are special words. An identity is an alias for a single person. One account can have several identities. An account is unique to that person and is signed digitally for security & trust purposes. It is not considered best practice to use identities for different people.

However just ONE person can use a single PopG account at any one instant. If someone else is using that account they will, by default, be disconnected without warning. No data will be lost, but someone who is using the PopG account will be very surprised when they cannot continue their work.

All PopG seats carry a two week free trial. So I recommend you sign up and learn from experience.

In summary a PopG seat can have many groove accounts (though usually it has one). Each Groove account can have many identities (though it usually has one).
(I will check the form - thanks)
