PopG is holding off upgrading to 3.0f. We are hoping to skip it and go to 3.0g when it comes out. The reasons seem to be some performance issues for some users - including me!

Over Christmas we upgraded our portal. This particular upgrade has been several months in the offing. Improvements include:
-better support for a wider range of browsers,
-better password management,
-support for RDP through the portal and
-a much improved interface all round.

The upgrade also means we can provide smart card, RSA securID and similar authentication technologies for the security concious.

Happy New Year to one and all. Sorry I have not kept up my goal of 1-a-day. After Christmas we were privilidged to begin supporting the Tsunami relief effort in conjunction with info-share (http://info-share.org/doc_view.php?record_id=35) focusing on Sri Lanka.

One success for PopG here is the automatic availability of streamed files stored in Groove out via a browser. This is worth a highlight since Groove data is normally part of the "dark internet", that is it is not available via a search engine at best and perhaps not even available via a direct URL. We have changed that.

The feature is proving so useful we are rolling it out for other projects and organisations.
