Groove has died, long live Groove!

At PopG we welcome today's announcement of the takeover of Groove Networks by Microsoft. We see this as a vote for Groove as being THE collaboration platform for the future. It would have been great for Groove's founders to do it alone, but times are tough out there and Groove is one great product that deserves a future.

Back in 2002 Groove and PopG had their altercations, all satisfatorily resolved for both parties I might add. But altercations none the less. Part of my agenda of sticking by the PopG business from that defining moment, was my personal belief that somehow something had been spawned that was bigger than the company that spawned it. Today's announcement indicates Microsoft have recognised something of that value as well.

Hmm, Bill, perhaps you and I should swap jobs - if only for a day? Sorry, only joking, running PopG would be a tough call.
